RHP Eli Jerzembeck is an incredibly intriguing arm in this year's class. Had a great true Freshman campaign in which he pitched his way to a 2.84 ERA with 36 Ks to 6 BB across 31.2 IP. Spent most of his time pitching out of the bullpen, but unfortunately will be out for the 2024 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. Prototypical frame at 6'2" and 185-lbs with some physicality in the lower-half. Funky, up-tempo at times delivery that messes with the timing of opposing hitters. Jerzembeck has a short, quick arm stroke and attacks from a three-quarters slot with above average arm speed. Jerzembeck's FB sits in the 92-94 range but has been up to 96. Jumps out of his hand and features carry through the zone. At its best when located in the top-half of the zone, which is also where it gets the most whiffs. Plus control of the offering. The money maker with Jerzembeck is his lethal, low-80s CB. Very sharp, high-spin pitch that in 2023 averaged over 3,000 RPMs. Flashes sharp two-plane break, and last year averaged over 18" of sweep with depth. True swing-and-miss pitch that would comfortably grade out as a 60. Generated a 41% miss rate last year while holding opposing hitters to a measly .154 average. It's a work-in-progress and his feel for it will need to improve, but Jerzembeck also throws a high-80s CH. Got hit around a little in '23, but also flashed hard tumbling life with some fade to the arm side. Could end up as a viable third offering. Even though he won't pitch this season, Jerzembeck is an intriguing Sophomore-eligible arm and could be Drafted this July somewhere between the 5th and 9th rounds. (🎥: @GamecockBasebll)

So much noise out there for the high school player right now. At the end of the day focus every single day on getting better. The rest of this will take care of itself. If a coach wants to call you he will find your number. If you don’t want to play travel baseball don’t play. If you want to travel and find competition outside your hometown then go play. Either way you will be ok. Get better everyday. Love the game. Love the weight room. Love the process. The rest will take care of itself. Don’t spend wasted energy stressing about the recruiting system. Worry about your own path & development.
