@BrerRabbitHoles Mario World romhacks have gotten increasingly wild with all kinds of new code injected into the game. New sprites, new mechanics, new graphics, new music, you name it. Grand Poo World 2 is fairly modest compared to some other hacks. New stuff gets made almost daily.

Every once in a while something like this makes the rounds. I am the creator of this romhack, along with several others. There’s an entire community of awesome folks who make and share extremely difficult Super Mario World levels. I’d be happy to answer any questions about it.

@DogWisdomPoker I loved playing brutally hard Mario levels in Mario Maker and in Super Mario World, which led me to start making my own levels. I greatly enjoyed the creative process and trying to perfect designs.

@DKBarbarian What compels you to make these?

@_fiziks When you're watching a full attempt like this, this is undoubtedly someone who has practiced the level quite a bit and knows each obstacle. However, most kaizo players nowadays will choose to play hacks like this without save states, figuring it out bit by bit.

@DKBarbarian What is the skill associated with this? Are people solving these levels on the fly or is it more of an act of memorizing the button presses (not saying one is easier or worse)
