re: Tony Brothers officiating crew's physicality enforcement last night, I find this interview with RJ quite relevant today. Players include referee tendencies in their preparation, but Tony Brothers is named here with an outlier reputation. On full display in OKC Game 2.

On today’s episode @SiriusXMNBA, asked RJ Barrett for specific examples of how players take advantage of relaxed physicality enforcement in the playoffs. His answer, and the names of the referees that players prepare for because of their tendencies:

Stephanie White addressed some follow-up questions from @RomeovilleKid on Caitlin Clark's back. On why CC wasn't on the injury report: "Not everybody that doesn’t practice or gets a pro day is on the injury report. That happens all the time. And she wasn’t listed on the injury report earlier because we expected her to play." Asked if Clark is injured: "Her back is sore. If there’s anything more detailed than that, that’s the training staff."

The Brewers, with an emphatic sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley Field, by a combined score of 19-5, served a subtle reminder that the NL Central title goes through Milwaukee. The Brewers, winners of 5 of the last 7 full-season NL Central titles, and 3 in a row, are still a beast.

The Detroit Tigers, a pre-season World Series contender, have now lost 13 of 15 games since two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal went on the IL. They are now 8 1/2 games out of first place.

It's the longest NHL playoff layoff in 107 years. How the @Canes have tried to stay sharp before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against @CanadiensMTL, despite what K'Andre Miller called a "brain reset." espn.com/nhl/story/_/id…

An excerpt from Elina Svitolina's emotional letter about Gael Monfils to their daughter Skai, for @PlayersTribune, ahead of Gael's final Roland-Garros: 'The first thing you should know, I think, it’s that Gaël Monfils was one of the greatest shot-makers anyone has ever seen. There are others who were more consistent, or who made fewer mistakes … but it’s interesting. Because when you say why these players are great, maybe you are needing to give a long explanation. Or you are needing to show many statistics, or a whole match, or a whole tournament. But with your dad? It’s not like this. With your dad, it’s so simple. You can show someone a single point of his, even a single shot … and now they will “get it.” Because your dad, in just one shot, one moment, he could achieve what I think few athletes ever achieve. He could make people feel something. Almost like at a concert and there’s a perfect song, or at the movies and there’s a perfect line, and you have this feeling like, Oh my god. WOW. It takes your breath away.'

The story of the Fever and Caitlin Clark is simple. She is more than a basketball player. She is an entertainer. People pay to see her like she’s the star of a Broadway show or it’s her concert. This means honesty and transparency are crucial, especially with attendance dropping.

Old man/front lawn moment, but San Antonio has twice challenged calls the officials got wrong -- and won both. But due to the rule, they're now stripped of that luxury in the 2H. Seems like something the league should look at in the offseason, the precedent of the rule is off.

I didn’t think Hartenstein was playable in this series — but if he’s gonna be allowed to maul and grab Wemby like this on every play he should play 48 minutes. This is hilarious.

Chet mira el tobillo de Wemby y va directo a pisarlo. Pero bueno, viniendo de ELLOS, la verdad que no sorprende.

The Fever may have violated league rules with its decision to not play Caitlin Clark vs. the Fire on Wednesday. League rules stipulate all matters relating to player availability must be submitted by 5 p.m. the day before the game, unless during back-to-backs. Clark did not practice on Tuesday, which should've been reported by Indiana. The team instead waited until just before the game to announce her injury.
