At EUCO, I emphasized that as conflict escalates in the Middle East, we must not lose sight of the war in Ukraine: delivering the €90 billion loan to ensure Ukraine’s defence and economic stability, advancing Ukraine's EU membership by 2030, and adopting the 20th EU sanctions package on Russia. The EU must remain united and resolute: strengthen support for Ukraine, maintain pressure on Russia, and boost Europe’s defense capabilities.

Russian combatants should be banned from entering the Schengen Area. Our message is simple: there is no place in Europe for Russian war criminals. Forget your sunny European holidays and Aperol spritzes in our capitals while your country wages a brutal war and bloodshed in #Ukraine. #FAC

Whoever saves one life, saves the entire world. Today, Lithuania commemorates the Day of the Rescuers of Lithuanian Jews - a tribute to those who chose humanity over fear during the darkest chapter of our history. They risked everything - their freedom, their families, their lives - to save the Jewish neighbours from death. They sought no recognition - they simply followed conscience when indifference and silence were the safer choice. Their courage lives on in every life they saved, in every family line that survived, and serves as a powerful reminder that even a single act of light can break through immense darkness, and that one act of bravery can change the fate of generations. The choice to protect another human being is the strongest stand one can take against evil. Today, we honour the rescuers - known and unknown - whose humanity saved worlds. Together with leaders from 🇱🇻, 🇪🇪, 🇵🇱, 🇫🇮, 🇩🇪, 🇷🇴 & 🇸🇪, we have addressed the President of the European Council @eucopresident and the President of the European Commission @vonderleyen regarding the threat posed by former Russian combatants. We believe that one of the most serious and persistent risks is the potential movement of former and currently active Russian combatants into the Schengen Area. Any entry of such individuals may have serious consequences for the security of all 🇪🇺 Member States. Therefore, decisive and coordinated action is urgently required to prevent negative consequences!

We have already received the 4th American LNG cargo in less than a year at the Klaipėda LNG terminal to be delivered to Ukraine. It shows that our Klaipėda LNG terminal and Amber Gas Corridor becomes a reliable LNG delivery route to Ukraine, especially during the systematic destruction of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Additional reliable gas supplies will help 🇺🇦to get through this crucial winter and the constant destruction of its energy infrastructure. Once again, we witness the power of LNG, unleashed by @realDonaldTrump!

A highly productive visit to Kyiv by 🇱🇹DefMin @robertas_kaunas has secured a new agreement with 🇺🇦President @ZelenskyyUa to manufacture defence equipment in Lithuania. Most systems will prioritise 🇱🇹 & 🇺🇦 armed forces, strengthening joint capacity to repel Russia’s aggression.

On the sidelines of the MSC, I had a meeting with German Chancellor @Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz. I greatly value Germany’s leadership and its continued commitment to strengthening Baltic regional security. Lithuania’s key priority in this area is readiness to host the German brigade in Lithuania in 2027. We are delivering on it according to the agreed schedule.

Today at the Munich Security Conference, I met with the Minister-President of the German federal state of North Rhine–Westphalia @HendrikWuest. Part of the German brigade, whose deployment to Lithuania is being implemented according to the agreed schedule, comes precisely from this Land. It is natural that we feel special closeness and emotional connection to North Rhein-Westphalia.

In Vilnius, I held my first bilateral meeting with 🇺🇦 President @ZelenskyyUa. On behalf of Belarusians, I expressed full solidarity with the Ukrainian people fighting for freedom and deep respect for President Zelenskyy’s exceptional leadership. I thanked him for his powerful words during the commemoration of the 1863 January Uprising and for Ukraine’s clear support for a democratic Belarus — and for distinguishing between the Belarusian people and Lukashenka’s regime. We spoke about Belarusians standing with Ukraine, volunteers, activists, and partisans imprisoned for solidarity, as well as the situation of Belarusian volunteers held in captivity and Belarusians living in Ukraine. I thanked President Zelenskyy and his team for accepting the latest group of released Belarusian political prisoners. We discussed further steps on releases, sanctions policy, accountability for Lukashenka and his accomplices, and a joint strategy with European, U.S., and other democratic partners. I also expressed our wish to deepen our cooperation with Ukraine. The futures of a free Ukraine and a free Belarus are inseparable.

Vilnius. Rasos Cemetery. We honored the memory of those who were killed during the January Uprising of 1863-1864 – an uprising of the Ukrainian, Polish, Lithuanian, and Belarusian peoples against the Russian Empire and oppression. Generations before us fought so that we could exist. Our people are fighting so that our children and our grandchildren, and their children and grandchildren, can exist – and live in peace. So that what matters is not one person sitting on a throne in Russia, but every one of our nations and every human life. This is the European rule: people matter. Nations matter. Cultures matter. Russia does not matter – because anyone who stands against peoples has always lost historically. Eternal memory to all who were killed during the January Uprising. Eternal honor to all who fought for freedom for their peoples.

The January Uprising was a patriotic revolt by subject peoples of the old Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth against Russian domination. It had a liberal and democratic spirit that lived on. The Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, & Ukraine honor that cause, relevant today.

Today in Vilnius, together with PL President @NawrockiKn and UA President @ZelenskyyUa, we commemorated the heroes of the 1863–1864 Uprising against Russian oppression. They showed us the path of freedom and dignity. That historic commitment lives on today — most vividly in Ukraine’s courageous fight for freedom. Today, we look to the future with unwavering determination to defend and preserve the freedom for which our ancestors fought selflessly and without compromise. We are uniting our strength, building resilience, and rallying allies to meet any future challenges. For your freedom and ours!

At the informal EUCO in Brussels, I stressed that strong 🇪🇺–🇺🇸 ties remain essential for Europe’s security and defence. We must ensure a lasting United States military presence in Europe. Our common interest is the security of the Arctic region, and Greenland in particular. Lithuania stands in solidarity with Denmark and the people of Greenland. International law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are non-negotiable. Lithuania’s commitments to Ukraine remain unquestionable.
