@steveemig43 I think many writers would say the best bits of their work are the ones they read back and say 'I don't remember much about writing that bit" because it just flowed through them without too much cortex involvement.

@DominicGarcin In my first zine of poetry I self-published way back in 1992, I wrote on the inside cover, "They aren't my words, I'm just the faucet the water flows through," trying to describe how my best poems seemed to happen.

"With my watery power I'll shape life to my will" Says the back-garden tap From the top of its hill But as its water runs free To feed living earth It smiles at how taps Give vanity birth.

Very thought provoking although I'm a bit uncomfortable with the 'you' and 'I' terminology as I see things in terms of there being the creative force of the universe and humans being taps that channel that force into the world. No you and I separation.

@CMichael_Author Thanks for the kind words Michael. For anyone else reading this, the point of the verses is that we are simply taps whose real purpose is to channel intangible phenomena into the world, such as consciousness, thought and love.

What would happen if we appointed world leaders who prized compassion, love and peace rather than playing hardball and winning at all costs? Maybe a single day in human history when we weren't blowing each other to pieces?

Iterative notes, failed recipes, discarded lives. If that’s true, where do we stand in the laboratory?
