I think one thing he was trying to get at was that artists weren’t part of that negotiation. It was their record label owners that decided on the value of their work which led to people feeling like music is just free.
It’s gotten to a point where people believe that streaming services are necessary and believed to be the only good way to distribute music.

@DebatingHipHop_ @kanyestreams1 @kanyestreams1 someone break down the numbers of buying an album once for $20 compared to the potential residual income from streaming over 5 years or more. Even at pennys on the dollar it has to be more than a one time $20 charge?
