Living in Colombo is becoming increasingly expensive food, transport, rent, and daily living costs keep rising. But the TAX system remains uniform across the country, not reflecting these urban cost pressures. This creates real pressure for city-based earners. අපිට සහනයක් දෙන්න!

As power costs continue to climb in Sri Lanka, I still don’t understand why the government isn’t providing tax relief on solar panels, batteries, and other equipment. Isn’t it good if more of the population moves towards renewables and reduces the strain on the grid?

LPL has removed the controversial social media follower requirement for Icon players after backlash online. The earlier draft required Icon and Star players to have over 250K followers. Many questioned the move, noting players were previously urged to stay away from social media and focus on cricket.

We should not play one off test with anyone! If any country doesn’t want to play more than one so be it! There’s nothing called bigger nations and test status is equal to all test playing nations .You can’t have 1 team playing 20 games and another playing 10 games in the same championship cycle! Generating revenue and keeping test cricket alive is two different things and you should not mix up the two !

If you as a hotel; after seeing all the data; and after seeing everything that’s going on in the rest of the world that has turned the market upside down, still refuses to believe in India as a major market for your property, I am sorry but you are not qualified to be in hospitality. It’s unbelievable how much our people would bend over for Europeans while completely ignoring Indians that actually spend more.

Isn’t it better to focus on addressing the real issues first? * Announce the team owners, retained/pre signed players and all key stakeholders. * Ban players who participated in non ICC approved leagues during the last 5 years ❌. * Build the LPL fan base properly. The league itself has only 99.2K IG followers and has posted just twice in the last 20 months. * SLC discourages players from using social media, while the LPL simultaneously expects players to have a stronger social media presence. * MLC & GT20 will clash with the LPL, while 🇧🇩 🇦🇺 🏴 🇿🇼 🇵🇰 players are committed to international cricket. More importantly, will current high profile overseas players actually come at these price points? With my experience, I highly doubt it. Feels like the real concerns are still not being addressed 🕵️🫤 . What are your thoughts?

The Lanka Premier League (LPL) Season 6 has introduced detailed qualification criteria for player categories, placing major emphasis not only on cricketing experience but also on commercial appeal and social media reach. Under the new regulations, players applying for the top-tier Icon category must have played at least 75 T20 internationals, featured in over 100 franchise T20 matches, and played a minimum of 30 matches during the past 18 months. In addition, they are required to have a social media following exceeding 250,000 followers. Star category players must have played at least 50 T20Is, over 100 franchise T20 matches, and at least 30 matches in the last 18 months, while also maintaining a social media following above 250,000. Gold category players are required to have a minimum of 30 T20Is, more than 75 franchise T20 matches, and at least 20 matches in the last 18 months. Players in this category must also have a social media following exceeding 150,000. Classic category players must have at least 20 T20Is, more than 50 franchise T20 matches, and 20 matches in the past 18 months, with “reasonable fan base and commercial appeal” listed as essential criteria. The document also states that all overseas players must have either represented their national teams or played in top-tier T20 leagues such as tournaments organised by Full Member Boards, ILT20, or Major League Cricket within the last 12 months. Retired local players are not eligible to participate in the tournament. The salary structure for Season 6 places Icon and Star category players in the USD 60,000 to USD 80,000 bracket, Platinum players at USD 50,000, Gold players at USD 30,000, and Classic players at USD 20,000.

IPL TV viewership reportedly down 26%. @BCCI should take it seriously as IPL has become a batting exhibition instead of a cricket contest. A few fixes: - Balanced pitches where bowlers matter - Rethink the Impact Player rule - Stronger fan engagement by franchises - Better stadium experience: toilets, seating, food, access Cricket is most exciting when there is uncertainty and balance… not just 225 vs 225 every night.

The last time a Srilankan batter scored more than 50 runs in IPL innings was in 2013, when Mahela Jayawardene did it. Now Pathum Nissanka has finally done it again.

Alastair Cook has absolutely NO IDEA what it's like to be in the IPL. What's it's like to always be around the best players in the world. So his opinion on Jacob Bethell doesn't matter at all. Stay in India, Jacob. I know, even though you're not playing, you're learning and will be a way better player. 👍🏻

To see negative comments about Mayank Yadav today is horrifying. The kid nearly lost his career & livelihood at 21yrs. Just to see him play again is huge boost. The fact that he clocked 150kph again is a miracle. At 23yrs just pray for him that he stays fit. The control will come
