This is the first time I've seen this man say something very sensible. The truth is Nollywood really damaged the reputation of Africa.

The issue is that you are looking for a synonymous name for Gele in your language. Some Yoruba cultural items are so deeply rooted that they have no equivalent name in other languages. My point: Language reflects culture, so when culture is unique, it's word often remains untranslated.

Gele refers to all scarves in Yoruba, same as ichafu isi is for Igbos. This shouldn’t be rocket science. I remember lagbaja’s Onigele video, the scarves were tied the same way ichafu isi is tied, that’s my first memory of seeing “gele”

“Tinubu isn’t perfect but I can see that from where you took the power you’re trying. Was there not insurgency in Nigeria when Goodluck was president? Did his people not support him? Buhari was president, did his people not support him, Was there not insurgency in Nigeria? Now my own Yoruba man; in my 32 years, I have not seen a president do what Tinubu has done in three years.” — Oyemyke says.

Lagos Igbo 🇳🇬 & 🇺🇸@uchechukwunna12

@a_meena_a Moi-moi is not yoruba. Igbo call it Elele. Okpa is the variant of Elele. You can say the yoruba name is more popular because of Lagos-Ibadan media monopoly days

Just saw 6 Nigerian Officers near my office enroute to Westminster. Three Army Officers, one Navy, one Airforce and one Policeman. All Senior Officers. Neatly kitted in ceremonial uniforms. I said hello and told them I was proud of their service. Support our Armed Forces💙.
