Two years after Boom Shaman, I was invited to create Emergence (2018). The title speaks to something I’ve always felt deeply, when separate parts come together, they become something greater than they ever could alone. Nature, people, energy, connection. Built from reclaimed wood, bamboo and salvaged rope, this piece was made to feel alive and in conversation with its surroundings. Tendai- created for the Tao beach club in Las Vegas The name means gratitude. I made this piece to bring a sense of calm into a space that’s usually pretty high energy. She stands with her eyes closed and hands open, just holding that feeling of stillness and presence. People walk into the hands and become part of it, even if just for a moment.
