One of the massive bus boarding islands coming to Flatbush Ave. These do so much for faster service/safer streets: —Physically protect bus lanes ✅ —Shorten pedestrian crossing distances✅ —Eliminate time buses spend pulling into/out of stops✅ —Reduce instances of speeding✅

Remember during mid-Cuomo where the press entertained the spin that the governor doesn’t control the MTA?

D staff about transportation reauthorization: "We just want to clear this off our to do list." "This is the best we will ever do." "I view this as an academic exercise." The next Dangerous by Design comes out in June, showing how dangerous our roads are. This is not academic.

As we applaud @NYC_DOT advancing long-awaited bus improvements along Flatbush Avenue's northern end, our calls for fast, reliable bus service along the entirety of the Flatbush corridor to Kings Plaza continues. @NYCMayor, let's keep Flatbush Ave movin'! 🚌💨

Chicago (and Illinois generally) offers a cautionary tale about the risks of pushing back pesion payments. For decades, the practice was used to balance budgets in the Land of Lincoln. The fallout continues to strain the city and state's finances. reuters.com/investigates/s…

Mamdani's $124B budget is balanced in part because it stretches out NYC's public pension contribution schedule, saving the city $1.6B for FY27, per source. Fiscal watchdogs are concerned about that, saying it saddles NYC with an untenable future burden. subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2026/0…

"We are struggling. We can't afford $3 fares. @NYCMayor, we need your help." Too many riders are struggling to afford transit, like our member, Susie, a home health aid and @1199SEIU member who applied for Fair Fares and was denied because she made just $1,000 over the $23,490 income limit. Mayor Mamdani has the chance to uplift millions of riders like her by expanding Fair Fares eligibility to New Yorkers earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level.

Asked about Jim Walden’s post, below, Mayor Mamdani sighs & calls it “despicable” & anti-Muslim. “The idea that this… passes for the norm of discourse, it is a reflection of where we are, not just as a city, but as a country.” Says his advice to Walden is to “get off Twitter”

Who is winning the World Cup transit PR war? It may be @NYCMayor. New center-running bus lane coming for the free Q70 link to LGA to accommodate those traveling here for the games as well as airport workers on route that averages speed of 2.7 mph—folks can walk faster.

I look forward to working with @NYCMayor and @SpeakerMenin to finalize a budget that goes even further and invests in the programs we need to make our City more affordable, like Fair Fares and NYC Kids RISE. (2/2)

It's really great to see New York leaders digging deep to cut the fare Now what about expanding Fair Fares to one million struggling workers? (And delivering free fares so another million can get around and get ahead)
Adam Crafton@AdamCrafton_

Mayor Mamdani ran on a promise to deliver affordable transit to every rider across this city. Yet today, as struggling New Yorkers face $3 fares and increased enforcement, @NYCMayor released an executive budget with no funding to expand Fair Fares, even denying @NYCCouncil's proposal to offer free bus, subway, and paratransit service to nearly 1.4 million currently eligible New Yorkers. By expanding Fair Fares to those earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level, he can still make good on that promise and immediately uplift millions of working-class riders who depend on access to reliable, affordable transit daily.
