Fuel price cap would ‘take wrecking ball' to public finances, minister warns irishexaminer.com/news/politics/…

This is misinformation by an establishment-alligned journalist. Poland has cut VAT from 23% to 8% to combat the fuel crisis. Spain has cut it from 21% to 10%. They have been "warned" by the EU to undue it or face "punishment". We know the EU is weak for enforcing such things. Even if they do fine, it will surely be less than the amount we'd save and be worth it long term. Also, we would be stood alongside Spain and Poland so we would dispute it together and thus have greater negotiating power. This rhetoric we constantly hear from FFG, that we can't do something because of EU law is both dangerous and wrong. This is how you build anti-EU sentiment like Brexit. And is typical of a political class captured for the last decade.

Simon Harris on RTE six one news saying because of the fuel protestors “cancer treatments can’t go ahead”. Using cancer treatment as a weapon is really scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
