If it’s just Contrails, why doesn’t it dissipate? Why do they spread out and create a thin haze that lingers all day?

I flew on alot of planes in my life and never saw anything like this. Not until recently. The term persistent contrail became official in 2017. Regardless of what you think is going on up there, the change is undeniable.
