#OTD in 1917, during the #FWW, the Canadian Corps secured Hill 70. Earlier that summer, the Canadians had received orders to seize the German-occupied city of Lens, France. They planned to take Hill 70, which dominated the city and could give them strategic positioning. 1/5

@UBCO_DVC Saddened to read this shocking story. There is no place for violence or hate in our community.

I am horrified by the reports of an assault over the weekend and I condemn this attack in the strongest terms. Our community must be one where everyone feels safe and welcome and we must all stand up against violence and hate. I am heartened to see the outpouring of support.
