Avatar Kyoshi was the next in line after Avatar Kuruk Kyoshi ruled for over 200 years, which created long-term stability after defeating chin the conqueror but also allowed certain political systems to become rigid and corrupt. She used fear and overwhelming force to maintain order. That kept peace during her lifetime, but some nations learned to obey power rather than develop true balance. The isolationist policies (focusing on protecting your own land and people) she encouraged in some regions contributed to separation between nations. Most importantly, she failed to fully eliminate the ambitions and ideology of Chin the Conqueror-style expansionism and authoritarian rule. By Roku's era, the Fire Nation had become extremely powerful, Roku inherited a world that looked peaceful on the surface, while dangerous ambitions were quietly growing underneath. Eventually leading to Fire Lord Sozin beginning the Hundred Year War after Roku's death. Kyoshi also created the Dai Li to protect cultural heritage in Ba Sing Se. In the long run, that became one of the most corrupt and manipulative organizations in the franchise, causing major problems for both Roku's and Aang's eras.

Avatar kuruk war was due to the negligence of the spirit world by Yangchen the last avatar. Avatar Kuruk inherited many spiritual problems that were indirectly connected to decisions made during the era of Avatar Yangchen. -Yangchen focused heavily on keeping peace and stability in the human world. -To protect humanity, she often sided with humans over spirits when conflicts happened. -That created resentment and imbalance in the Spirit World. -After her death, hostile dark spirits became more aggressive during Kuruk’s era. Kuruk’s generation looked peaceful on the surface,no massive human wars like Roku or Aang faced, but Kuruk was secretly fighting corrupted spirits constantly. Those battles drained his life force and health over time. Avatar Kuruk eventually admitted that people misunderstood him as lazy and irresponsible because nobody knew he was spending nights battling spirits to keep the world stable. At the same time, Yangchen wasn’t simply “negligent.” She knowingly made difficult trade-offs: -protect humanity immediately, -even if the spiritual consequences might appear later. That choice helped create a delayed crisis Kuruk had to deal with. So the chain is basically: Yangchen prioritizes humans → spirits grow angry/unbalanced → Kuruk inherits spiritual chaos → Kuruk spends his life fighting spirits.
