Free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is a cornerstone of global security and prosperity.
Along with 90 countries and partners, @SDoughtyMP joined Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani to call for the urgent and unimpeded opening of the Strait.

It’s good news that the Strait of Hormuz has now reopened.
This must be a long lasting and workable solution, without tolls or restrictions on routes.
Today we announced our joint plan with France and other international partners to protect freedom of navigation.
We need to see a return to peace and stability, and a permanent ceasefire.

The UK has convened more than 40 nations who share our aim to restore freedom of navigation.
This week the UK and France will co-host a summit to advance work on a coordinated, independent, multinational plan to safeguard international shipping when the conflict ends.
