@DumbDoggo22 i considered doing a google doc since it would've allowed me to use more images than tumblr (which limits you to 30 per post) but that would've felt like doing a callout post on the series as a whole, which in hindsight might've actually been fitting
So, Dayshift at Freddy's turned TEN today!
To mark the special occasion, I wrote a huuuge behind the scenes post that basically chronicles the development of each game & where character ideas and junk came from. It's 10k words. Enjoy! #dsaftumblr.com/directdogman/8…
@Razzbowski aw, thanks, Razz!!! I was thinking about your coverage of 2 when I wrote the post! Crazy it's almost a decade ago now! Hope you've been well!
@DirectDoggo
Hey, so, on the off chance you ever make another DLC for Dialtown, you should, like, make an NPC named Justin, with a briefcase for a head.
Cuz, get it?
Justin, case.
Just in case?
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH...I'm so fucking unfunny.
(I drew him, and I love him.)
@Markery667lol I didn't get far enough in to *fully* implement it, but the funniest concept was hiring Dave and having him try to lure kids away while performing, forcing you to keep an eye on him. Messing around with pathfinding js plugins produced promising early results though.
@Markery667lol room, using invisible markers, like fnaf's map. Took some trial and error. Basically the robots would periodically target customers, forcing you to spray them within a short timeframe, which meant deciding whether or not to let robots roam for extra cash was a strategic choice!
@Flipchipz@Markery667lol I'm writing a behind the scenes post on Tumblr that explains some of the stuff that went into the characters and where some of the game's ideas came from. I've gotten the start of it written but plan to finish it when the Roger plushie wraps up in a few days!
@Endless_Charade@Markery667lol It's been so long that I honestly can't remember what I've revealed. EG: The green phone in 3 was originally gonna be different + modeled by me with a bigger arc. I considered a second gen 3 phone guy (aka roger's gen) and... there was a bombastic phone with a captain's hat.
