Let’s take a minute to showcase something: In athletics, you hear a lot about freshmen grab this, underclassman get that. That’s a 5th year starting catcher with a bucket over her shoulder. You are never bigger or better than the family, UNDERSTAND THAT. It’s a mindset.

At a showcase this fall a player’s dad asked where I coach. When I said @FalconsBase his response was, “Guess you gotta start somewhere.” I was polite, but clearly it didn’t cross his mind that I love coaching JUCO & choose to do it. Be curious, not judgmental.

When I was figuring out what life looked like after softball I was asked A LOT - “Well Aubrey, What do you want?”. My answer always? - To make an impact. The opportunity to coach in college came half way through senior season. Never looked back & the goal remains the same.
