Next month marks the 10 year anniversary of DoNotPay. In 2025, people talk to computers all the time with ChatGPT. But in July 2015, it seemed crazy to chat with a computer! We will be launching something special for our customers to celebrate 10 years.

Spoke this week at the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund FII Institute Conference, alongside many entrepreneurs and government officials, including President Trump. The cost to deploy best in class AI models (per million tokens) has decreased by over 200x from over a year ago. This decrease in costs, combined with a tech friendly regulatory environment, is leading to an explosion of new use cases. It feels like technology is making years of progress every few months. We are in an exciting era!

One way to tell if you are talking to an AI is to ask: “what’s your name.” Unless the prompt mentions the name, the AI gets confused. We saw this when we deployed a DoNotPay robot to cancel a cell phone contract. Eventually, our AI recovered and said “you can call me Alex.”

DoNotPay is probably the only company connecting LLMs to fax machines to get stuff done for consumers. The value in AI applications is in the integration with the real world, not in the language generation itself!

Incredibly proud of the DoNotPay team for shipping AI phone negotiations to our users this month. The latency in foundation models has decreased by over 70%, allowing for passable customer service phone calls. From tracking down a lost bag to getting a discount on a utility bill, dealing with big corporations is a drain on our lives. We recognize that sometimes it’s not necessarily about the money, but about the principle and entertainment of fighting back. So we are allowing consumers to watch their negotiations, like ESPN robot wars. Will be sharing some of my favorite examples.
