Today, @EU_Commission and national consumer authorities have notified @shoptemu of a number of practices that infringe EU consumer law in the framework of a CPC network action. Problematic practices relate to fake discounts, fake reviews, hidden contact details for questions or complaints, pressure selling, etc. All market players in the #SingleMarket must respect EU rules, no matter if they are established outside the 🇪🇺 We urge Temu to bring those practices in line with EU consumer laws. Thanks to @CERRE_ThinkTank for its invitation to discuss the priorities of the last 🇪🇺 mandate in the field of Digital Consumer Protection. I had the opportunity to share my experience on consumer protection and the challenges the 🇪🇺 faces in securing the protection of consumers in digital environments.

Sprawiedliwości ⚖️ ➡️ W ubiegły piątek, 22.11.24 r. w Warszawie odbyło się spotkanie przedstawicieli stowarzyszeń: Lex Super Omnia @lex_super_omnia , Iustitii @JudgesSsp i Themis @ThemisSedziow z Komisarzem UE ds. Sprawiedliwości Didierem Reyndersem @dreynders W spotkaniu brał też udział SSN Dariusz Zawistowski. Stowarzyszenie Prokuratorów Lex Super Omnia reprezentował prok. Maciej Płeszka. ➡️ W czasie spotkania poruszyliśmy tematy związane z przywracaniem praworządności w Polsce. W szczególności zwróciliśmy uwagę Komisarza UE na konieczność rozliczenia prokuratorów, którzy uchybili godności urzędu, a także na możliwość wprowadzenia zmian w Prokuraturze poprzez zmianę Regulaminu Prokuratury. ➡️ Dodatkowo szeroko poruszono problem statusu neosędziów, trudną sytuację w Sądzie Najwyższym i konieczność składania przez prokuratorów wniosków o wyłączenie neosędziów, również na poziomie Sądu Najwyższego.

Very good meeting with 🇵🇱 national Prosecutor @d_korneluk and his team. It was a fruitful opportunity to get his views on the functioning of the prosecution system in #Poland and how to ensure its functional independence in the context of upcoming reforms, notably on the law of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. We also discussed the process of preparing the ground for the start of @EUProsecutor’s operations in #Poland, which is expected to take place in early 2025.

Very good exchanges with representatives of Polish judges and prosecutors. A great opportunity to learn more about your perspectives and experiences on the way forward for the restoration of #RuleOfLaw in #Poland 🇵🇱 We need reflections and exchanges on how judicial independence can be further strengthened. Thank you for our precious cooperation.

Excellent discussion with @Adbodnar on the state of play regarding the 🇵🇱 Action Plan on restoring the rule of law. I was pleased to hear that there is a continued strong determination of the government to restore the #RuleOfLaw and safeguard judicial independence. While this work is still ongoing and some reforms take time, I am convinced that remaining obstacles can be overcome in the future. @EU_Commission 🇪🇺 remains fully at the disposal of Poland, so it can fulfil its commitments. I am looking forward for the excellent cooperation with the @EU_Commission to be continued.

Excellent meeting with @adamSzlapka, Minister for EU Affairs. He updated me on the ongoing and future legislative initiatives that aim to restore the #RuleOfLaw in Poland. I welcomed the good cooperation and underlined that @EU_Commission can provide full assistance in this process. We also discussed the upcoming 🇵🇱 Presidency. I welcome their strong priorities on democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights, with a specific focus on the role of civil society.
