Onboarding was extra fun to design and build for this one 🕺 It's a moment of delight but it's also functional. It gives Pica a couple valuable seconds to index all of your fonts* so when you click through everything is sorted, loaded, and instantly available. This is an example of how 'design and engineering are really the same.' *unless you're one of those sickos with like 10k+ fonts. Then unfortunately you'll sit with a spinner for a few more seconds 😅

@uwukko i noticed this a few weeks ago, what i ended up doing was making the floating app window 24px and have it animating to 16px if the window is touching 2 or more edges of the screen, the result is no artifacts when the app is touching a corner or is fully expanded

it's already standardized on macOS tahoe the outer window radius (c) is calculated from the window controls radius (a) and controls' distance from the edge of the window (b) every app that has different controls padding will have different window corner radius, by design

@eschadiol Yep, it’s really meta and beautiful and he’s earned it. And I think it’s especially poignant because he’s not had control of his career most of his life (especially as a kid) and he was performing last night on his own terms, with his childhood self.

@jeremiahjw real, i mean ignoring everything personal and just looking at the career path/stage difference, there's no reason she couldn't get there (she'd be a lot older by then but w/e), it worked because of many factors on many levels, one of them being the fact that his music aged well

woke up with very intense thoughts of suicidal ideation, once i’m there it’s really hard to get out, life just does not seem worth it no matter how i play it back, i start craving the release, like i’m hungry for it, i hate that i’m like this, it makes every day feel like torture
