@waltmossberg Ah yes the ZX81. Our family ended up getting the Commodore VIC-20 with 3k(?) of RAM instead, which was great for a few months until the C64 instantly made it obsolete. But it was still a nice starter computer.

@Humanstein Internet Relay Chat (IRC) in late 1989.. Back when less than 100 people in the world would use the internet to group chat at any given time :)

14 years ago today @Veronica made me sign up for a new service called Twitter. As I signed up backstage at the CNET booth at CES I said to her, “someday this will be the primary means of communication for the President of the United States.” Then I followed @nicole
