The @SocialBite Café has made its return to Edinburgh's Rose Street!
Back in 2012, the café opened as a small coffee and sandwich shop. After a young homeless man named Peter simply asked for a job, the business became involved in tackling homelessness and led to over 10 years of campaigning. After a few months, the shop introduced the 'Pay It Forward' scheme, where customers can buy food in advance for those who need it.
Now a hugely successful charity across the world in 2026, the café has been completely refurbished and re-opened on Rose Street. Continuing with their Pay It Forward programme and daily free food service, the new café is a beautiful space where customers can enjoy good food for a good cause, with a warming sense of community.

In just one day you can learn all about medieval history at Linlithgow Palace and Museum, with plenty of cosy spots to stop for lunch or a quick coffee on the go. Founded in 1128 by King David I, Holyrood Abbey was closely connected to Scotland’s royal history for centuries.
After the Protestant Reformation, the abbey’s choir and transepts were lost, although the nave continued to be used as a parish church. However, in 1687 King James VII and II evicted the congregation, and the building gradually fell into ruin, leaving the striking Gothic remains seen today.
