This afternoon at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame held meetings with participants of the Africa CEO Forum including Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Group Chairman of Schneider Electric; Mohammed Akoojee, CEO and Managing Director for Africa at DP World; Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Chairman of BUA Group; and Ylias Akbaraly, Chairman and CEO of Redland Group. They discussed ways to expand collaboration and explored investment opportunities aligned with Rwanda’s development priorities and economic transformation ambitions.

I arrived in Kigali this afternoon from Nairobi, where we joined other African leaders at the Africa Forward Summit co-hosted by President Ruto and President Macron to advance a new model of partnership built on trade, investment, innovation, infrastructure, and shared prosperity. I thank my brother, President Paul Kagame @PaulKagame, for the warm reception upon my arrival in Kigali and for our productive bilateral engagement at the Urugwiro presidential village. Nigeria and Rwanda understand what this moment requires. Africa must trade more with itself, move goods faster, connect its markets better, and give its entrepreneurs the continental scale they need to compete. Our discussions focused on expanding bilateral trade between our two countries. We are also in the early stages of discussions with RwandAir on a practical flat rate arrangement that can help Nigerian businesses ship their goods more predictably across the continent. As champions of the AfCFTA, Nigeria and Rwanda will continue to work together to deepen digital trade, strengthen market access, and remove the barriers that limit African enterprise. Furthermore, Nigeria is proud to host the AfCFTA Council of Ministers and Digital Trade Forum in June. We also look forward to welcoming the continent and the world for IATF and CANEX from November 5 to 11, 2026, and again in November 2027. This evening, President Kagame welcomed President Daniel Chapo of the Republic of Mozambique to Rwanda. The two Heads of State discussed areas of bilateral partnerships including security cooperation, trade, and investment. President Chapo @daniel_chapo24 is in Kigali to attend the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum during his visit.

Open letter to RURA Dear @RURA_RWANDA, As citizens faithfully paying for internet and occasionally receiving it like a rare seasonal gift, we seek guidance. President Kagame received a delegation led by Mr. Ahmed Elsewedy, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric, and Mr. Hossam El Shaer, Chairman of Sunrise Resorts & Cruises and Madaar, currently in Kigali for the upcoming Africa CEO Forum. The meeting centered on expanding investment in Rwanda, particularly in areas of sustainable energy, infrastructure development, and opportunities in the industrial and hospitality sectors.

RDB CEO @afrika_jean also met with Philippe Labonne, President of Africa Global Logistics @AGLgroup_, a leading logistics operator providing integrated port, maritime, rail, and logistics solutions across Africa, including in Rwanda. The meeting explored opportunities to strengthen logistics infrastructure, enhance trade facilitation, and support Rwanda’s regional connectivity and trade ambitions.

This morning at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame welcomed H.E. Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé @FEGnassingbe, President of the Council of Ministers of Togo for a one-day working visit to Rwanda. Their discussions centered on the strong and growing bilateral relations between the two nations as well as developments in advancing regional stability.

Today, #RIB Director General for Crime Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, Karake Peter, received a delegation from the Internal Audit Office of the Kingdom of Eswatini led by its Director, Ms. Portia Mamba. Their discussions covered anti-corruption policies, strategies, and prevention mechanisms, as well as RIB’s collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsman and other competent authorities to handle corruption cases and other injustices effectively.
