Then the Clarity Act showed up the ONE bill that would've ended the regulatory nightmare for every retail holder, every DeFi dev, every small exchange getting crushed by SEC ambiguity and he killed it. Not because the bill was bad. Because it wasn't good enough FOR COINBASE. Think about that. The man who built his entire brand on "we're fighting for you" looked at the most important crypto legislation in history and decided his profit margins mattered more than your legal protection. This is what regulatory capture actually looks like. It doesn't show up in a suit and say "I'm here to protect incumbents." It shows up in a Coinbase hoodie saying "we needed a better deal." There is no better deal coming. The window is closed. And every crypto holder in America is paying the price while Brian Armstrong sits on a $10B net worth built on the very confusion he just chose to preserve. He didn't fumble the Clarity Act. He spiked it on purpose.
The banks are on board, the crypto industry is on board, the White House is on board, and President Trump wants the bill on his desk this spring. The only thing standing in the way of the CLARITY Act right now is Coinbase, because they care more about what’s good for Coinbase than what’s good for the crypto industry. One company should not be able to hold up legislation this important.
