Human sensibility, interpretation, intention, and contextual judgment still matter deeply. The challenge is no longer whether AI belongs in design workflows, but how to preserve human design judgment inside systems operating at machine speed.

There is a growing assumption that if AI tools can generate cleaner interfaces faster, design quality will naturally follow. But AI mostly reduces friction and limits obvious mistakes. It does not guarantee production ready quality.

Perspective from Practice - Johanne Design is changing alongside AI accelerated workflows. Not only in tools, but in rhythm, intervention points, and collaboration patterns between designers, engineers, and the systems they now work through.

It's a question worth sitting with, especially for companies operating across multiple geographies. The traction is real. So is the work required to engage with it seriously.

One thing came up repeatedly: the infrastructure question. Not physical infrastructure, relational and institutional. Who builds the bridges between the players already there? That's the harder problem.

Also at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, Alice joined the "Why Fukuoka" panel, a session organized by Fukuoka City on what it actually takes for regions to compete beyond the obvious capitals.
