#Sooners signee Dayton Forsythe deserves to be the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Oklahoma. There hasn’t been a small school winner in a while, let’s make sure that changes this year. - Forsythe is a 3 time state champion. - He averaged 20 pts, 7 reb, and 6 ast over his career and totaled a 91-4 overall record in his last three seasons. - Most of his best games occurred in his biggest games. He averaged 25 pts, 8 reb, and 5 ast in 23 games against 4A-7A schools. - Totaled 49 points against the No. 16 team in the nation. - In the four biggest games of his life (Three state tournament games and one tournament of champions championship game), he averaged 34 pts. - Won the Oklahoma tournament of champions his junior year (First small school in 50 years to do so) There’s no doubt, Forsythe has EARNED the GPOY. Don’t let big school bias ruin it.
