Yesterday, I was talking to an older woman in a salon.
Mid conversation, she asks if I am married. I say “no”. She asks how old I am and I say “I’ll be 30 next month.”
Then she said the reason I’m not married yet is because I seem too proud of my accomplishments and no man wants to be with a woman who won’t bring herself down at least a bit for him. I just giggled, sipped my water and turned back to the book I was reading.
