@Theholisticpsyc Whilst I've never felt vengeful or rage as a symptom of emotional neglect: I definitely learned to swallow my emotions, and not value them. I think that's why I turned to songwriting. It was the best way I found to put words to my feelings and have them both heard and honored.

After two years of silence, I had a conversation yesterday that shifted everything I thought I knew about communication. I just wrote about it on Patreon — along with five takeaways you can use right now to change the way you connect with others. patreon.com/posts/what-gri…

@rumilyrics 100%. Your beliefs shape your voice, your choices, your future. That’s why I help people rewrite the story they believe—so they can become who they were born to be.

@DrDoyleSays Yes. What if the lesson isn’t “you have to earn love”—but rather, “you’ve always deserved it”? I wonder how different the world would be if more people believed that.

One reason why pets can be so powerfully healing for trauma survivors in recovery is, they demonstrate to us that love doesn't have to be "earned," conditional, or fraught. That we can both love & be loved, just because. That's a very, very new concept for many survivors.

@adeewunmii I believe a lot of people want to be genuine—but fear of judgment, backlash, or being misunderstood keeps them silent. Instead of shaming the symptom, let’s get curious about the cause. What would change if we created spaces safe enough for authenticity to breathe?

@nate_postlethwt This. Survivors need their voice honored before we ever talk about “healing.” Forgiveness is a personal choice—not a performance to make others comfortable.

When a survivor is brave enough to talk about who hurt them, it is not the time to talk to the survivor about forgiveness.

@sensorystories_ Thank you for sharing this. It’s wild how often people think denying your reality is somehow helpful. We don’t erase struggle by pretending it doesn’t exist. Acknowledging disability isn’t an insult—it’s respect.

@_Pammy_DS_ This is what I teach in every vocal lesson: know your worth, use your voice, stay rooted in grace.Power isn’t about volume. It’s about alignment.

@Stopworkplacebu Yesssss. “Nice” doesn’t change the world. Authentic does. This is why I teach girls to sing, write, and speak their truth like it’s a revolution—because it is.Having a voice is the power. “Nice” is optional.
