To some, the @Enugu_techfest 2026 was just four days. But for those of us on the organizing committee, it was the result of months of relentless work, coordination, creativity, and belief in a bigger vision — bringing together what has now become one of the largest tech gatherings in Africa. For four powerful days, government leaders, policymakers, investors, founders, creators, developers, and builders from across Nigeria and around the world converged in Enugu State to exchange ideas, build connections, and push the conversation around innovation forward. Being entrusted to lead the Social Media & Community team throughout this journey was both a responsibility and a privilege. From shaping the narrative online, growing the community, amplifying our speakers, sponsors, and partners, and documenting defining moments of the festival — it was an experience that stretched my capacity in the best way. Beyond that, I also had the opportunity to also work in the Web3 team, helping bring the Web3 Day at the conference to life and working alongside the team at @0G_labs ahead of the festival to support the Web3 Hackathon. None of this would have been possible without an incredible team working behind the scenes, visionary leadership, top tier speakers, dedicated volunteers, supportive sponsors and partners, and everyone who showed up to be part of the movement. On Web3 of the @Enugu_techfest 2026, it was a pleasure speaking on a panel on the “Future of Web3 in Enugu”. This is one that I’ve seen its progression over the past 6 years. My opinion is “Enugu and the Southeast Are No Longer Catching Up in Web3 - We Are Now Contributing” 🧵

During ETF 2026, the students of Enugu Smart Green School took the stage and owned it! From their different campuses, these young innovators showcased projects built from skills in robotics, AI, mechatronics, coding, and even C++ — introduced as early as Primary 4. On display were prototypes like an automatic solar streetlight powered by sensors, customized 3D-printed power banks, drone applications for agriculture and security, and clean-energy concepts designed with long-term sustainability in mind. It's clear that innovation isn’t about expensive materials but about ideas, creativity, and the confidence to build. Enugu’s future isn’t waiting. At #ETF2026, our Training Centre was fully in motion! Powered by One Goal Analytics, multiple sessions ran simultaneously from AI and Machine Learning to Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Project Management. Participants engaged in hands-on learning, explored vulnerability management in cybersecurity, tested AI concepts in real time, and examined how project management drives transformation in a tech-led world. At #ETF2026, Students from the Enugu Smart Green Schools took the stage to demonstrate how curriculum restructuring is shaping a new generation of innovators. With the integration of courses such as robotics, media, and mechatronics, the program is intentionally designed to equip young learners with practical, future-ready skills. The campuses showcased their specialized hubs, including the Imaginative Hub (Tomorrow Is Here Hub), Digital Technology Hub, and Mechatronics Hub, each serving as a hands-on environment for creativity and technical development. The live demonstrations brought the vision to life. Projects on display included a smart dustbin, a robot built by the Queens Campus, and from Owoh Campus, a 3D printer, green light power banks, and 3D-printed helicopters. GTC Campus 1 also presented an automatic solar streetlight and the CMG bus, highlighting strong applications of clean and smart technology. These presentations illustrated how intentional government investment in education is empowering young students to build solutions to real-world problems and positioning Enugu as a rising innovation hub in Africa. In his session “Beyond Lagos: Why the Next Wave of Web3 Innovation Will Come from Regional Tech Hubs,” Emmanuel Chinedu, Co-founder of @blockhubafrica , broke the conversation into two critical fronts: the private sector and the government. On the private sector side, he emphasized the need to intentionally build and support regional hubs that provide infrastructure and a soft landing for developers outside Lagos. He highlighted ecosystems like @StellarOrg , @SuperteamNG, and others that offer grants, seed funding, incubation, and exposure enabling talent to build and scale from anywhere. On the government side, he stressed the importance of clear, forward-thinking policies. With regulatory clarity comes investor confidence, increased foreign participation, stronger businesses, job creation, and ultimately broader economic growth. The message was clear: decongesting Lagos isn’t competition, it's complementary. Regional ecosystems must rise alongside it.

Earlier today, I had the privilege of participating in @Enugu_techfest 2026, themed *“Coal to Code: Energy in New Form.” The Festival represents far more than a technology exhibition; it is a strategic platform for legacy building. By convening innovators, startups, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers, it cultivates an ecosystem where ideas are transformed into scalable solutions capable of addressing pressing socio-economic challenges.
