Having trouble with dialog in your comics? Try writing your entire story with visuals only and zero dialog. Does it work? Good. Now Have fun putting in whatever dialog you want. The heavy lifting is done. Dialog becomes like icing on a cupcake after that. It enhances. Too many writers just throw in tons of filler crap thinking it works when much of the time in comics less is more. Silent panels can hit harder than the best written lines. Watch: PRIMAL if you want to learn pure visual storytelling with zero dialog.

Hello everyone, I need your help I hate feeling like a beggar. I've wrestled with writing this for months, but unexpected things keep happening in my personal life and my colorist, David (@Brollonks), hit me with the unfortunate truth a few days ago. The only way Pendragon can release in a timely manner is if we get more funding. This will be my flawed attempt at asking for help, something I REALLY hate doing, so bear with me. WHERE WE'RE AT Pendragon launched it's campaign last year in May to coincide with the new year as a fresh start & creative statement for Wulfsbane Comics. I'd already put in a few thousand dollars by this point after spending a year on this book since the production phase of my previous book, Wulfsbane #2. The inks were basically done (only half paid for thanks to our illustrator's, Karly, generosity) and we started with 8-10 completed pages. When the campaign ended, I had already forked in enough money to reach page 13 & got to reach around page 20 (I split the money between Karly, David, & our pro letterer/prepresser, @eric_weathers). I've done my best to curate enough backers, but the reality is we were extremely lucky to raise over $3000 (do the calculations). Since then, David and I have been jumping through hopes trying to get this done. In short, the entire book costs nearly 25k to make alone. That's not even counting the extras. I put in nearly 6k by the end of the Kickstarter and only received 7% of that goal, putting the entire thing at roughly 9k/36%. With our current progress, we're only around 50% complete. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU While I need to ask for money to help get this out to everyone quickly, I feel guilty doing that while being this late. Instead, I simply want help getting the word out about what we're doing so that the ones who want to help us get there can. Pendragon was envisioned as a wet dream for classic fantasy fans & a way for me to explore my love for the Arthurian/Celtic stories I grew up reading. I realized barely anyone talks about some of the cooler legends and that's a god honest crime. Please, give the campaign a look. If you honestly like what we're doing and want to see this out faster, please like, share, & talk about it on your own platforms. I'd prefer funding the rest of the book myself, but it simply isn't feasible to do alone anymore. Thank you for listening to my soapbox speech, I'll be in the workshop.
