Hace una hora que apenas llueve en Chiva. 491.2 l/m² se han registrado en el pluviómetro de la @CHJucar, prácticamente todo desde las 16 horas, es decir, el acumulado lo ha sido en 8 horas, con registros de hasta 160 en una hora.

The solar PV situation could potentially be more pronounced. Crucial to understand how much worse and persistent such a situation could become in a worst-case scenario and whether such conditions are possible under much colder conditions with higher electricity demand.

"Dunkelflaute" with low wind and solar PV potential Interesting weather conditions today with coinciding low wind and relatively low solar PV potential (pointed out by @JZ_Lpz) It will be crucial to understand the frequency and persistence of "Dunkelflauten" in a warming climate.

@erichfischer Models do not simulate the persistent blocking highs so they will miss any change i think. We need to look to the real world. They certainly seem to be becoming more frequent there. I was going to work with Andy Prein on this a couple years ago. Maybe we should get together?

The current large-scale flow causing extreme rainfall in France and in coming hours in Italy looks remarkably similar to the 2023 September spatially compound extremes shifted few hundreds kilometer eastwards. September 2023 cause floods over Portugal/Spain and Greece/Lybia.

@HayleyJFowler I agree. It is sad to see villages along Ardèche that I had visited under water. Do you have any evidence in your models that such cut-off lows are becoming more frequent? We checked and so far could not find any. But the ones that happen clearly bring more intense rainfall.
