Ukraine is buying time for all of us by standing up to Russia’s imperialist aggression, a threat that reaches far beyond Ukraine and affects the whole of Europe. Speaking with students at the Escuela Diplomática @esc_espana, I underlined that our future security rests on clear principles: territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the inviolability of borders. These are not abstract ideas. They are what protect the freedom and security of both small states like Estonia and mid-sized states like Spain. It was a particular pleasure to be at an institution where many outstanding Estonian diplomats have studied, including our current ambassador to Spain.
