Not enough wind in Oklahoma to compete with the vocal tornado Nicolina brought to Carrie's gothic classic "Blown Away." Sure, things went awry on a note or two, but girlfriend brought a storyteller's eye to the lyrics, and I involuntarily shivered each time she hit a new gear.

Why's Katy Perry saying America wants to see Huntergirl win? "Baby Girl" was her wobbliest vocal (technically) & her least plugged-in (emotionally). What happened to the light behind her eyes? And what happened to constructive criticism? (I know, it disappeared circa 2007.)

Like a sandwich w/ 3 types of meat, 4 cheeses and 7 condiments, Jay's "Just the Way You Are" exhibited not the slightest hint of restraint and yet somehow wound up tasting like nothing. A tragic step back from the delish chipotle chicken club that was last week's "Believer."

Was no one at #Idol willing to tell Scarlet the fastest way to an early exit is an uptempo jam still in heavy rotation? The opening verse had the fizz of a Schewppes left open on the counter overnight, and the ad-libs made me want to Dua Lipa into a sensory deprivation tank.

@TheSims Literally half of the comments I’ve read are like ugh, it doesn’t have this or that, that the Sims 3 had blah blah blah. Can y’all not please… this is not The Sims 3. If you want to go and play with all The Sims 3 packs, go ahead. But Sims 4 is a different game. Get over it!

@MissDTiare @simotional @TheSims Because games are supposed to offer *some* challenge? Everything in The Sims 4 is ridiculously easy, the *option* to take out a loan and struggle to pay it back would be fun for a great many people. Those of us who grew up with The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 miss that challenge.

"You can take any song and make it yours" (Lionel's praise) is different from "You take every song and make it sound like the previous one you covered," which is how I'm starting to feel about Arthur Gunn, in particular his emotionless, melody-free rendition of "Remember Me."

My gut says Deshawn's going home after that jazzy riff on "When You Wish Upon a Star." He's a contestant who desperately needs/deserves 12 weeks of live shows to grow into himself, but the edit is stacked against him, and he was neither stirring nor exciting enough to overcome it
