@PeelsBananas In race trim under the previous regulations were never "flat out" - 10 laps in and Crofty is saying stuff like "seems everyone has settled into the race and now managing their tyres" Add that to DRS too! (Artificial overtaking) These regs have potential! Quali needs tweaking.

@F1losopher The fuck are you on about? People want drivers to go flat out, thats it. I'm a max verstappen fan. He's not going to win this year, that's fine. But these regs are just shit. If they take away that fucking battery recharge bullshit, Mercedes and Ferrari will still be top 2.

I'm very touched by all these Verstappen and Alonso fans fighting for "the good of the sport" regulations. Where were you during the aftermath of Abu Dhabi 2021? Bunch of hypocrites.

@FenixRisin54479 For me the racing 2 races in, is brilliant. Qualifying definitely needs adjustments but there's plenty of time to tweak these regulations! We're only 2 races in.

@F1losopher Maybe for some, but that's not the case for me. I watch F1 for over 30 year now and I dislike the 2026 way at the moment. For me this has nothing to do with racing I like. Doesn't matter who wins or not 😏

@FenixRisin54479 I do get it's not all Max and Alonso fans but the deflection on some of those posts are obvious. It's bloody tough when your driver no longer has a realistic chance of winning, especially after such success.

@F1losopher If anything, what’s good for the sport in my opinion at least is it has something tangibly entertaining to watch. Now, that leads to an even deeper hole of subjectivity which I won’t get into, but for what I’ve seen so far, F1 is headed in a better direction than the 2022 regs

@F1losopher Whats „good for the sport“ usually means what’s good for their drivers. It’s not a coincidence that it’s mainly these two are complaining

@FenixRisin54479 Disagree. Most of the hateful comments miss the point on purposefully entirely. Fans preaching, on behalf of "the good of the sport" but are perfectly ok with long standing race rules being broken? How is THAT good for the sport? They want to have their cake AND eat it.

@F1losopher Apples and oranges. At the moment they feel the core essence of racing is at stake. More like a electrician in a racecar. Pushing buttons to get faster and go slow to generate power. I agree with that, it makes it artificial.

Hiding behind the guise of "real F1". Real F1 is abiding by the rules, first and foremost. Nobody is listening to you because nobody trusts your intentions.

@Samwinton99 Thus meaning with correct energy management, drivers can push for longer and actually race (see Ferrari and Russel and the midfield!l) ?

@F1losopher Theres a degree of exaggeration but compared to traditional expectations I don't think it is that far fetched. We need more races to assess but I think the role of tyre management will have very dramatically decreased though this may be rebalanced by providing softer compounds

All previous regulations, tyre management has dulled the spectacle, therefore I see nothing wrong with the battery management aspect - in fact the racing is as good as I can remember (so far) Changes do need to be made for qualifying undoubtedly. It's a good start so far though.

Now the dust has settled a bit, Me and @johnnyherbertf1 will be digging down into the new 2026 F1 season, two races @wearetherace on our Stay on Track Podcast @wearetherace this week and asking the leading question; 'Its interesting, but is it F1?' 🤔😉 #f1 #stayontrack

@Samwinton99 Eliminated is a bit far fetched, we haven't got downforce greedy boats stuck to the floor, as previously

@F1losopher To be fair we have eliminated the need for tyre management in races this year because the cars are entering the corners 50kph slower due to clipping. In quali we've removed all the skill of being at the limit of grip in corners and might as well use robots to drive the car

@MarsAres_2301 I think overall, its been a good start to these regulations but something definitely needs tweaking for qualifying. Qualifying should be flat out, fastest lap, fastest driver. ECU mapping should be different for Quali.

@scuderiaastefan I'd suggest Max's car eating tyres, is down to poor design of the Red Bull car. I'd be happy to see racing with battery management rather than 25 laps of no racing because of wake or tyres overheating.

@F1losopher i mean battery management is tyre management on steroids, theres a reason they could go 40 laps with no issues again and its not Pirellis fault, if anything they produced less durable tyre judging from how Maxs tyres were after pushing for 7 laps
