States now need to turn their solidarity into action, ensuring the ICC and civil society can operate without political or financial obstruction.

FIDH actively participated in #ASP24 in The Hague last week. For the first time, @IntlCrimCourt States Parties collectively condemned sanctions against CSOs and UN experts. They also issued an unprecedented joint declaration expressing solidarity with the Court.

The ICC arrest warrant reflects a narrow view by excluding sub-Saharan African detainees. The Libya investigation has long overlooked international crimes against migrants and refugees.This cannot continue at this crucial moment for Libyan victims.

El Hishri is suspected of committing or overseeing crimes against humanity and war crimes between 2015 and early 2020, including murder, torture, cruel treatment, rape and other forms of sexual violence, persecution, and outrages upon personal dignity, at Tripoli’s Mitiga Prison.
