Winter SMB monitoring at the Kanderfirn #glacier (Swiss Alps). More than 3 m of #snow in the accumulation area, boosted in the last two months. Not so bad for the glacier's health, but how will the melt season be? Also, visible Sahara dust layer at 1 m depth.

New publication! #Cloud properties modelled by PWRF at the 79N glacier for a summer event in 2019. Although the peak melt was mainly due to a blocking anticyclone and foehn winds, thin high clouds before/after the event prolonged the melt.
