If I were starting a new business today... I’d launch a Legacy Interview Service. No big team. No complex tech. Just me, one great assistant, and a simple system. Here’s how it would work: Every family has stories locked inside their parents or grandparents. But most never get recorded. And then… it’s too late. This business solves that! I’d sit down (via Zoom) with someone’s aging parent or mentor and interview them. Their upbringing Their values Their war stories, love stories, regrets, and wisdom Then I’d package it all into something beautiful: A recorded conversation. A written summary. Maybe even a family legacy book. I’d hire a full-time assistant from the Philippines or Latin America to: 1. Schedule the calls 2. Prep the materials 3. Transcribe and edit 4. Design the final legacy book (in Notion or Canva) 5. Handle delivery and follow-ups I'd pay that person about $1,500/month. They run the backend. I would show up and ask the right questions. The Offer tiers would be simple: 1. Just the audio 2. Audio + written legacy summary 3. Full package: Audio, written, family tree, printed keepsake BONUS: Charge 3x the full package price for you to show up in person to do the interview. It’s meaningful work. It spreads by word of mouth. And it scales slowly, sustainably, and with purpose. This business wouldn’t just generate income. It would preserve wisdom, bring joy to families, and create something timeless. Someone please go do this and let me know how it goes!
