Bring a little luck (and a lot of learning) to your Python time! In this beginner-friendly CodeX project, students draw clovers with simple shapes (circles + rectangles) and then use random numbers + probability to build a fun little game of chance. Want to level it up? There are optional extensions to make it more interactive - variables, difficulty increases, and custom intro/ending screens - so students can flex both creativity and logic. In this beginner-friendly coding project, students use their CodeX to send and receive a digital gift using radio signals. They’ll: 🎄 Display a custom bitmap image 🎄 Work with constants and a Boolean variable 🎄 Use if statements to control game logic 🎄 Level up with an optional extension—stop the game manually or add a built-in timer! Eight years ago this month, we created Firia Labs as a DBA under our mother company, Firia Inc. Our start was made possible by seed funding through an @NSF - SBIR grant, & since then we’ve continued the journey as a self-funded company tightly integrated with Firia Inc., our hardware and software design consultancy. Just five months in, we launched our first product, #CodeSpace, the #Python learning platform we developed and that continues to be both the heart and backbone of Firia Labs today. From the beginning, our products have combined this exceptional learning platform with physical computing devices. Over the years, that integration has grown to include hardware we design ourselves, giving teachers and students even more powerful tools for hands-on learning. For 8 years, it’s been our privilege to serve teacher heroes - educators bringing opportunities to students in areas they themselves never had a chance to study. It’s an honor to help them “keep up” with their students’ needs and to walk alongside them in that learning journey. I’m grateful for our team, our teacher community, and for the continued opportunity to keep building. Here’s to the next chapter 🥂

Last week we had the privilege of hosting a reception for these incredible cybersecurity teacher heroes while they were in Huntsville for the National Cyber Summit.
