Today, March 18 2026, was pure Champions League carnage in the round of 16 second legs... goals flying everywhere as the quarterfinal spots got locked in with some absolute demolitions and heartbreak!
Barcelona went full fireworks at the Camp Nou... smashing Newcastle 7-2 (8-3 agg) in a second-half rampage that turned a tense 1-1 first leg into a rout. Raphinha grabbed a brace... Lewandowski bagged two... Lamine Yamal... Fermín López... and Marc Bernal all got on the scoresheet. Newcastle started brightly but got completely overrun... tough night for the Toon Army but what a statement from Flick's Blaugrana!
Liverpool made Anfield a fortress again... cruising 4-0 past Galatasaray (4-1 agg). Szoboszlai opened the floodgates... then Ekitiké... Gravenberch... and Mohamed Salah sealed it with his milestone 50th Champions League goal... a stunner from outside the box. Reds looked ruthless and clinical... Salah hitting that landmark in style!
Bayern Munich kept the party rolling at the Allianz... 4-1 over Atalanta (10-2 agg). Harry Kane notched a brace (including his 50th UCL goal... English icon alert!)... with Karl and Díaz adding more. Bayern's firepower was just too much... Atalanta nabbed a consolation but it was all about the Bavarian dominance.
Tottenham fought hard at home... winning 3-2 against Atlético Madrid but crashing out 5-7 on aggregate. Xavi Simons starred with a brace... but Atleti's massive first-leg lead held firm despite the spirited Spurs comeback. Xavi Simons' quality shone... but it wasn't enough to overturn the deficit.
A night with 17 goals across the ties... giants flexing... underdogs dreaming big but falling short... and some historic individual moments. European football delivered the drama again!
Standout was Barca's explosion or Salah's 50th... what had you buzzing tonight? Drop your thoughts!

Newcastle United just pulled off a proper smash-and-grab at St. James' Park... beating Manchester United 2-1 despite playing with 10 men for most of the game and ending Michael Carrick's unbeaten run in charge!
Jacob Ramsey saw red right before halftime for a controversial second yellow (simulation call... harsh or what?)... but the Toon Army didn't care. Anthony Gordon won and smashed home a penalty in first-half stoppage time to make it 1-0... then Casemiro popped up with a header from a Bruno Fernandes assist to level it right at the death of the half... 1-1 chaos!
Second half was tense... United pushed but couldn't break through... until substitute William Osula came on and delivered an absolute stunner in the 90th minute... a long-range rocket that flew past Onana and sent the Gallowgate End into meltdown! Ten-man Newcastle hold on for the win... massive three points that lift them up the table and give the fans something to roar about.
Carrick suffers his first defeat... United's momentum halted... but credit to Eddie Howe's side for that never-say-die spirit and Osula's moment of magic. What a midweek thriller... St. James' was bouncing! Howay the lads!

Bayern Munich turned on the magic in today's Der Klassiker thriller at Signal Iduna Park... coming from behind to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a proper end-to-end classic that basically buried Dortmund's title hopes for good!
Dortmund started strong and took the lead through Nico Schlotterbeck around the half-hour mark... but Harry Kane flipped the script in the second half with a quick-fire brace... first leveling with a sharp finish in the 54th... then coolly slotting home from the penalty spot minutes later to put Bayern ahead. Dortmund fought back brilliantly with Daniel Svensson's stunning late volley to make it 2-2... setting up a nail-biting finish... only for Joshua Kimmich to steal the show in the 87th with an absolute rocket of a volley that flew into the net and sent the Bayern fans wild!
That win stretches Bayern's lead at the top to a massive 11 points with 10 games left... Vincent Kompany's side showing that killer mentality once again... coming from behind for the umpteenth time this season. Kane's now flying with goals galore... and Kimmich proving he's still got that big-game clutch factor. What a statement from the Bavarians... this one felt like the title was wrapped up on a rainy Dortmund evening.
Pure drama... goals... and Bayern dominance. Who's still doubting they're running away with it? Mia san mia!

English

Aston Villa got absolutely stung in yesterday's West Midlands derby... falling 2-0 to bottom-of-the-table Wolves at a rainy Molineux. What a shock for Unai Emery's high-flying side who were chasing top-four glory and Champions League spots!
The game was cagey and sloppy in the first half with the downpour making everything slippery... but Wolves grabbed the lead in the 61st minute when João Gomes latched onto a perfect lay-off from Adam Armstrong and rifled one off the underside of the bar from just inside the area... his first Premier League goal this season... pure class under pressure. Villa pushed hard late on (Amadou Onana had one cleared off the line in stoppage time)... but they got caught on the break in the 98th minute... Rodrigo Gomes slammed home the second on a lightning counter to seal it. Wolves fully deserved the three points... their second win of the campaign... and it keeps Derby's unwanted record-low points tally safe while boosting their survival fight.
This loss is a proper gut punch for Villa... they drop points at the worst time... handing momentum back to chasers like Man United (who could leapfrog them soon). Emery's men looked off the pace in a heated local rivalry... and the rain-soaked pitch didn't help... but credit to Rob Edwards' Wolves for that committed... gritty performance. Derbies deliver chaos... and this one was no exception!

English

Atalanta just delivered one of the most bonkers Champions League nights you'll see all season... coming from 2-0 down on aggregate to smash Borussia Dortmund 4-1 at the Gewiss Stadium and advance 4-3 overall into the round of 16!
La Dea were staring elimination in the face after losing the first leg in Germany, but they flipped the script like only Atalanta can. Gianluca Scamacca got them rolling early with a clinical finish in the 5th minute, then Davide Zappacosta rifled one in from outside the box right before halftime to make it 2-0 on the night. Mario Pasalic headed home the third around the hour mark, putting them ahead on aggregate and sending Bergamo into meltdown.
Dortmund clawed one back through Karim Adeyemi in the 75th to level the tie at 3-3 agg and set up a tense finish, but the real chaos hit in stoppage time. A late incident saw VAR overturn a corner to a penalty after a foul (shoutout to Nikola Krstovic putting his head on the line to win it), two Dortmund players saw red (one on the bench for mouthing off, Bensebaini for the foul), and substitute Lazar Samardzic stepped up in the 98th minute to bury an ice-cold penalty into the top corner with the absolute last kick of the game.
Pure pandemonium... Atalanta keep Italy's flag flying in Europe, Dortmund are out despite being favorites, and Raffaele Palladino called it a historic, unforgettable night that sums up their DNA. What a comeback, what drama. Bergamo is partying tonight! Forza Atalanta!

English

Bodø/Glimt just pulled off one of the wildest upsets in Champions League history tonight... knocking out Inter Milan 2-1 at the San Siro to win 5-2 on aggregate and storm into the round of 16!
The Norwegian minnows (from a town of like 50k people) were already up 3-1 from the first leg, but nobody expected them to go to Milan and finish the job like this. Jens Petter Hauge struck first in the 58th to make it 4-1 agg, then Hakon Evjen added a second in the 72nd to seal the deal. Inter grabbed a late consolation through Bastoni, but it was way too little too late. The San Siro went dead quiet as the underdogs celebrated like they'd won the whole thing.
This tiny Arctic club that plays in snow half the year has now humbled giants left and right... Inter were last season's finalists! Knutsen's high-pressing machine just keeps writing fairytales. Next up: probably Sporting or City in the last 16. Absolute scenes in Bodø tonight. Who saw this coming? What a night for football underdogs!

English

Manchester United ground out a gritty 1-0 win at Everton tonight in the Premier League, climbing back into the top four thanks to another clutch moment from supersub Benjamin Sesko.
The game was cagey as hell at Hill Dickinson Stadium... Everton pressed hard, United looked a bit flat in the first half, but Michael Carrick's side stayed solid. Then bang, 71st minute: Matheus Cunha launches a peach of a long ball, Bryan Mbeumo controls it brilliantly and slides the perfect pass to Sesko, who steers it past Pickford with ice in his veins. Third time in four games the Slovenian has come off the bench to nick it for United. Proper impact player stuff.
No fireworks, no thrills, just three massive points that put them fourth, three clear of Chelsea and Liverpool. Carrick's unbeaten run keeps rolling... five wins, one draw from six now. Everton battled but couldn't break through.
Sesko again proving he's worth every penny this season. United fans must be loving this new habit of late drama. How good is this bench looking right now? Up the Reds!

English

Yeah, alright, let's stretch this out properly then.
That weekend of Feb 21-22 was one of those where you barely had time to put your feet up before the next madness kicked off. Saturday already felt like someone turned the dial to eleven. City had to scrap hard for that 2-1 against Newcastle, Haaland doing his usual thing but the Magpies made them sweat right till the end. Brighton rolled into Brentford and just took them apart 2-0, looked like they were playing on easy mode.
Chelsea were staring down the barrel against Burnley until Flemming decided to unleash a proper worldie in the 94th minute to steal a 1-1. Villa and Leeds traded blows for a 1-1 that could've gone either way.
Then La Liga decided to drop the biggest plot twist of the lot: Osasuna going to El Sadar and actually beating Real Madrid 2-1. Madrid looked flat, Osasuna pressed like lunatics and deserved every bit of it. Atlético followed up by putting four past Espanyol without breaking much of a sweat. You could almost hear the groans from Madrid fans across the country.
Sunday though, Sunday was on another level. North London derby time and Arsenal just turned Spurs into a highlight reel for all the wrong reasons. 4-1, Eze running rings around them again like it's personal, Saka and Ødegaard pulling strings, the Emirates bouncing. Arsenal five clear at the top now, even with City's game in hand it feels like momentum is swinging hard their way. Liverpool had one of those proper away days at Forest, grinding it out until Mac Allister pops up late for the 1-0 winner that keeps them right in the mix. Palace quietly nicked Wolves 1-0, Fulham gave Sunderland a 3-1 spanking.
Barcelona did what Barcelona do, strolling past Levante 3-0 like it was training. Villarreal squeezed out a 2-1 over Valencia in a proper scrap. Bundesliga threw up some bonkers ones too, Heidenheim and Stuttgart sharing six goals in a 3-3 draw that had everything. And just to top it off, MLS season finally cracked open. Portland Timbers vs Columbus Crew went end to end, 3-2 to Portland with Ariel Lassiter slamming home the winner late on. Diego Chará out there still bossing it at 40-something and breaking yet another record. Proper feel-good chaos to kick off the new campaign.
Upsets, title swings, screamers, last-gasp winners, the lot. Felt like the football gods were in a generous mood. Which one actually had you proper shouting at the screen? The derby demolition, Madrid getting humbled, or something else entirely?

On this day in 1910, exactly 116 years ago, the Theatre of Dreams opened its doors for the very first time! February 19 marked Manchester United's debut at Old Trafford (then called the United Football Ground), hosting bitter rivals Liverpool in a First Division thriller.
Around 45,000 fans packed the brand-new stadium to witness history, but it was far from a dream start for the home side. United raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Sandy Turnbull (the very first scorer at the ground in the 30th minute), Thomas Homer, and George Wall. Then Liverpool mounted an epic comeback, with Arthur Goddard scoring twice and James Stewart adding a brace late on to snatch a stunning 4-3 victory. Talk about throwing away a lead on opening night!
Despite the heartbreak, that match kicked off an era of magic at Old Trafford, home to 20 league titles, three European Cups, the Busby Babes, Sir Alex's dynasty, and countless iconic moments. From those early terraces to today's roaring stands, the ground has seen it all. What started with a dramatic defeat has become football's most legendary home.
Happy 116th birthday to the Theatre of Dreams! Still the place where legends are made. Glory, glory Man United.

Happy Birthday to the one and only Roberto Baggio, the Divine Ponytail himself, turning 59 today on February 18!
Born in Caldogno, Italy, in 1967, Baggio remains one of football's purest artists... elegant dribbling, vision that bordered on magic, thunderous free-kicks, and a left foot that painted masterpieces. He won the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year in 1993 after an unreal season, became the first Italian in over 50 years to hit 300+ career goals, and scored in three different World Cups (only Italian to do so), netting 9 in total for the Azzurri across 56 caps.
From Fiorentina's hero (where his transfer to Juventus sparked actual riots) to starring spells at Juve (UEFA Cup and Serie A glory), Milan, Bologna, Inter, and Brescia... where his farewell at San Siro in 2004 had 80,000 fans chanting his name in tears. That iconic 1990 World Cup solo run against Czechoslovakia? Pure genius. The 1994 heroics dragging Italy to the final? Legendary. Even the heartbreaking penalty miss became part of his myth... resilience personified.
Baggio wasn't just a player; he was poetry in motion, humble off the pitch, and forever etched in the hearts of fans worldwide. The ponytail may have faded, but the magic never will. Grazie mille, Roby... happy birthday to a true legend of the beautiful game! Who's still got his highlights on repeat?

Bodø/Glimt pulled off a massive Champions League shock tonight, stunning Serie A leaders Inter Milan 3-1 in the first leg of their knockout playoff at the freezing Aspmyra Stadion. The Norwegian underdogs continue their fairytale run, claiming another huge scalp after already knocking out giants earlier this season.
Inter, last year's finalists and chasing a seventh straight win across competitions, fell behind in the 20th minute when Sondre Brunstad Fet finished neatly. Pio Esposito equalized quickly for the Nerazzurri with a sharp opportunist strike in the 30th, but Bodø/Glimt exploded in the second half. Jens Petter Hauge restored the lead in the 61st, and Kasper Høgh made it 3-1 just three minutes later with a clinical finish. Inter couldn't recover on a tough Arctic night.
This result leaves Simone Inzaghi's side with a mountain to climb in the return leg at San Siro next week. Bodø/Glimt's high-energy, fearless style has frozen out another elite team. What a statement from the Norwegian champions. Inter will need magic at home to turn this around.

PSG pulled off a thrilling comeback in tonight's Champions League knockout playoff first leg, storming back from 2-0 down to beat Monaco 3-2 at Stade Louis II. What a rollercoaster in this Ligue 1 rivalry clash with European stakes on the line!
American star Folarin Balogun stunned the visitors early, heading home after just 55 seconds and doubling the lead in the 18th minute to put Monaco firmly in control. Things looked grim for PSG when Ousmane Dembélé went off injured, but substitute Désiré Doué changed everything. The young talent came on and sparked the revival, scoring twice (including a clinical brace) while Achraf Hakimi leveled it before halftime. Monaco went down to 10 men after Aleksandr Golovin's red card, and Doué sealed the win in the second half with a powerful finish.T
his result gives Luis Enrique's side a huge advantage heading into the return leg at Parc des Princes next week. Champions League holders PSG show their never-say-die spirit once again, turning a nightmare start into a commanding lead. Pure drama and quality from the Parisians. Allez Paris!

After a heavy 4-0 Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg loss to Atlético Madrid, Hansi Flick's Blaugrana are hungry for a reaction and a statement win to reclaim top spot in the table. Napoli delivered a classic rollercoaster at the Maradona today against Roma in a thrilling Serie A showdown! The Partenopei fought back twice in a pulsating 2-2 draw that kept the drama alive right to the final whistle.
Roma struck first with a quick opener from new signing Donyell Malen in the 7th minute, but Leonardo Spinazzola leveled it up for Napoli before the break. Malen then grabbed a penalty brace in the 71st to put the Giallorossi ahead again... Looking like three points were slipping away for Conte's men. Enter debut hero Alisson Santos, who smashed home a late equalizer in the 82nd minute to snatch a vital point!
