My tribute piece titled "ARCHANGEL - EMPYREAN MIX" 🎶made nearly 5 years ago, inspired by Vaun Wilmott's "DOMINION" in celebration of #DominionDay2021 Famed choreographer George Balanchine famously referred to his dancers as "Angels," viewing them as elevated, sacred beings who transformed from mortals into ethereal creatures the moment they put on their costumes. The ballet dancers embody an ethereal, gravity-defying nature and otherworldly presence that transcends the physical, grounded nature of mortals. Author Jennifer Homans stated that ballet has always tried to lift the human body into a more spiritual, elevated realm - Apollo’s Angels: A History of Ballet [2010] Dominion 2014–2015 IMDB: imdb.com/title/tt307976…

"Water firm says 700 sewage spills stopped in a year." Yet more complete and utter nonsense from South West Water. @CurtisLancaster In 2022 SWW told govt that by 2025 it would reduce sewage dumping to an average of 20 times per year and reduce the impact on local rivers by 33%. During 2022 SWW spent 290,271 hours on 37,649 occasions dumping sewage into the environment. During 2024 544,439 hours on 56,172 occasions. Nothing but the usual bullish*t then. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

I've always found this incredible useful. An easy guide to exactly how much sh*t your local water company is in. Southern Water customer, 27% of your bill it doing nothing but paying interest on their stinking pile of debt. Thames Water, 28%, Anglian Water, 24% and on, and on, and on.......... weownit.org.uk/get-involved/p…

I follow politics closely and I’ve no idea what Britain’s position is regarding the Iran War. We’re being attacked but Starmer is doing nothing about it. This isn’t leadership, it’s kowtowing to a Muslim and far left vote that’s already abandoned Labour. Disastrous.

"We have not been, and we continue not to be involved in offensive action." Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has reiterated the government's defensive support in the Middle East and the need for a swift resolution to avoid a wider conflict. trib.al/1H4Yv2V 📺 Sky 501

One storm. One fallen tree. One field in the Lake District. ✏️ The entire global pencil industry. There is a field in the Lake District. Nothing remarkable about it. Fell sheep, grey sky, Cumbrian rain. Until one day a storm came through. It uprooted a tree and underneath the roots was something nobody had ever seen before. A black substance. Soft, dark, left a mark on everything it touched. The shepherds didn't know what it was, but they used it to mark their sheep. That was 1565. It was the purest deposit of graphite ever found on earth. The only one like it. Ever. 🌍 Word spread fast. The Crown seized the mine, put armed guards on the fell and flooded it between diggings to keep the price high. Stealing graphite became a criminal offence. Punishable by transportation to Australia. Because this wasn't just for marking sheep. It was perfect for lining cannonball moulds. It made England's cannonballs rounder. Faster. More deadly. ⚔️ England had a pencil monopoly for nearly a century. Every artist, every cartographer, every engineer in Europe. All of them wanted what was in that one Cumbrian field. Slowly, workshops appeared in nearby Keswick. Cottage industries. Families cutting graphite into sticks. Wrapping them in string. Then sheepskin. Then wood. The pencil was born. ✏️ In a Cumbrian field. Because a storm uprooted a tree. There is still a pencil factory in Keswick today. On the same site it has always been. Did you know that? These islands have thousands of stories the world has forgotten. We find them. We tell them. We put them in front of millions. You help us make that possible. Be Part Of Us. Be Proud Of Us. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 proudofus.co.uk
