Maybe I’m way off, but why do all these modern cards have so much value? Isn’t there way more of them being printed bc of demand? Like they are high rn but will they have any value in 5-10 yrs? I’m not hating I like them too. Just looking at it as a guy who thinks Vintage is King

@Halcyoncoves @TeamPokeColors Comparatively speaking tho. Just for example, if in 1998 they printed 50 million base set booster boxes, compared to today, lets say 1 billion etbs. I think its safe to say there are 20 times more fans today than in 1998. Print to collecter count ratio, if you will.

Nothing confuses me more than the pricing difference between modern and vintage - Part 2! $1,000 Pikachu that still can be printed for a few years to come but a Base Set Charizard from 1999 that’s been out of print for years is $500? Make it make sense!

@TeamPokeColors Ehhh.. probably not. But there are wayyy more people into it today than there was. I think a lot of it is comparable to meme coins, yeah you could buy the og btc for long steady growth but "its already so high", so getting in early for the "new thing" has way more upside.
