After eight months of tailored care and training, our young lion Mero has taken a big step forward at FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary. 🦁 This one‑year‑old adventurer has just moved into a larger enclosure — giving him more space, height and opportunities to grow. 🧡

Fur farming cannot be fixed with better cages or more rules. As science shows, the suffering is built into the system. With the sector already in decline, there is no justification for keeping it alive!

Some Member States are considering triggering a rare treaty provision as a last resort to force the @EU_Commission to reconsider opting for ''stricter standards'' instead of a full ban on #fur farming. euractiv.com/news/eu-fur-ba… When there is such widespread support for a ban, one wonders why the EC wants to keep this cruel industry alive.

Pashuk’s story defines true resilience. 🐻 For years, he lived as a “chain bear” in Albania — trapped beside a restaurant, confined to a tiny cage, and weighed down by a chain that cut into his neck. In 2016 he was brought to BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina, where his new life began.

🐾 Al was brought to our clinic by a woman in Sofia. He was in poor condition—lethargic and severely disfigured by the infected wound. The area was highly inflamed, so our veterinarians began treatment immediately. Today, Al has his forever home with the woman who rescued him.😸

@ammcevoy10 Live export of animals for slaughter was banned by Great Britain in 2024 after many years of campaigning by FOUR PAWS and others. However the calves being  shipped by Brittany Ferries are originating from Republic of Ireland and loaded onto a ship which sails to France...

@GemmaSm47547618 In the wild, brown bears typically do not live beyond 20 to 30 years, with many dying earlier due to threats such as hunting and habitat loss! Rada had a long and eventually great life. ♥️

Farewell, dear Rada 🐻💚 We’re saying goodbye to Rada, who passed away at 34. Despite chronic health issues—including arthritis, spinal degeneration and a malignant skin tumour—she continued to enjoy life at BEAR SANCTUARY Belitsa for many years.
