I am genuinely happy with today’s judgment of the Federal High Court, which issued an order of interim injunction preventing the Kano State Government from using funds belonging to the 44 Local Government Areas of the state to construct two major flyover bridges and interchanges and any other project. It’s so unfair when the state government planned to embark on the construction of these projects and billed the LGAs to contribute 70% of the budgeted amount, while the majority of the LGAs in the state have been significantly neglected, lacking basic infrastructure and development projects. Hopefully this judgment will serve as a catalyst for more inclusive and balanced development policies in Kano and other states. We say no to a selective project that favors only a few.
