17 years gone. Peak UCL madness at The Bridge.

When I built my first house in Abuja, I was earning 250k from one job and another 130k from another job = 380k. I got money to buy land from salary paid after ASUU strike was called off (6 months salary in bulk). From that 380k combined salary I built a well furnished 3 bedroom house. It took me 24 months with an extra loan of 1 million. It took 3 months to save up to buy tiles, some months I buy cement & keep it, another month na only sand the money go reach. But I persevere. Some nights na Akara & akamu me and my wife go drink to bed till we complete everything with fence and gate. When we moved to the house, there's this boldness I had that I can achieve anything I want & nothing is too big for me to achieve. As a man you need that! After few months, an Alhaji knocked on my gate and said he likes the house very beautiful and nice. He asked if I want to sell as he's looking for a house in that area he can do weekends. He asked me for my price I said I am not selling. He disturbed me for months. Bottom line. Don't take advise from online peeps, your reality & their reality are not the same. The house is worth 3x the amount I built it (It's just 4 years ago). There's no amount of interest that would give me 3x the capital in 3 years. Don't take directions from someone who has never been to where you're going or lived your life. Taking advice from strangers is a big risk!

Kwara Secures Strategic Spot in $500m FG Hydropower, Irrigation Project I had the honour of representing Kwara State at the official launch of the Federal Government’s $500 million Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria (SPIN) Project, led by the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, where I reaffirmed our readiness and commitment to sustainable development in water resources and agriculture. Kwara has secured a strategic spot in the SPIN Project after meeting all participation requirements. Our qualification was driven by deliberate steps, through payment of counterpart funds, the enactment of the Water Users Association (WUA) Law, and the provision of a viable 3,000-hectare irrigation site. I’m particularly pleased that the Duku-Lade Irrigation Scheme has been selected as one of the pilot projects, placing Kwara at the forefront of implementation. This milestone aligns with Governor @RealAARahman AbdulRazaq’s vision to strengthen irrigation, boost agricultural productivity, support farmers, and ensure food security. We remain committed to maximising this opportunity through strong collaboration with the Federal Government and development partners like the @WBG_Nigeria towards achieving sustainable water and food security in the state.
