@ggTeaTime So when we tried to be ambitious and play CAC qual instead of playing lan defrag we were somehow protecting our VRS?

The result of poor management decisions and always banking on maintaining VRS points rather than actually trying to build yourself up as a team. I have had exact conversations with people saying "but they'll make the major so why care" for a year now. Thats how you fail.

FLABBERGASTED at how THIS VERSION of FlyQuest is... somehow the worst one the organization has ever had statistically, even being bested regionally in OCE? Admittedly, I've not watched much of their post-regali era (but intend on reviewing), but... genuinely... how?

🇫🇷 @3DMAXGaming are the most-talked-about roster of the off-season! 📣 Reported buyout interest, per @KRL_STREAM via @HotspawnEsports and @dust2us: - @TeamHeretics - rumored deal, reportedly fell through - @Envy (ex-EnVyUs) - currently making inquiries to return to CS - @KarmineCorpENG - mentioned in talks - @virtuspro - mentioned in talks - @GentleMatesCS - mentioned in talks - @TSM - mentioned in talks - @Luminosity - mentioned in talks 🧐 Why everyone wants in: - #3DMAX gained +96 VRS pts in 30 days, climbing from #24 to #15 - All-French roster with NBK- as assistant coach - Active Tier-1 invites from #VRS positioning, despite missing the Cologne Major - Buying them is buying market access, not just a team A roster that didn't make the Major has become the most contested asset on the market. Two French orgs, two American orgs one Canadian org, one Spain org and one Armenian all chasing the same squad. None of it is signed yet. 🧐 Worth knowing Envy last played CS in 2017, but their roots run deep. Their 2015 @DreamHack Cluj-Napoca Major was won with @kennyS_, @NBK-, and a 22-year-old @Vitality_apEX. Eleven years on, apEX is captain of Vitality. Envy might be returning through the same French scene that gave them that Major in the first place.

So unfortunately the game I'm casting today is... Completely pointless. What are some words/phrases I should try and squeeze into the cast to make it a bit more entertaining 👀 #VCTEMEA

@luismmira to add to this, from a GM point of view, feeling like you are forced to potentially play an event even though you know its unlikely they pay out because VRS implications is the worst. (lucky for us personally we have found alternative events, but its been close).

@luismmira If a tournament doesnt pay out 100% - future tournaments from that TO should not feature on HLTV (therefore VRS) until they do.

I'm looking into cases of VRS tournaments, especially LANs, that have failed to pay out prizes. If this has happened to you, my DMs are open.

Why did @stavnCS switch to AWPing? 🤔 "I know I've never had the the aim of a NiKo or ropz, that is not my strength, my strength is being able to position myself well [...] I like taking control on the CT side, I think you can do this even more with the AWP."

@7AFL how teams don't think to have one player on the line and then a team mate to jump up on his shoulders to take a mark instead.... (obviously only for set shots from a distance)

"Would you have someone 190cm or 200cm to touch that (instead of 180cm Isaac Quaynor) because that's gone over by a centimetre, and Frampton's standing right beside him." 🗣️ Hodgey on Quaynor on the line instead of Billy Frampton

@MischiefCS2 @JesperLarsen222 @HLTVconfirmed @StrikerHLTVorg the whole point of regions having guaranteed slots is to ensure representation. It only makes sense that the representation should be more granular and be sub regions as well so we get the representation which the whole classification system was designed for.

.@StrikerHLTVorg: "[Valve] were open to the idea of [VRS] going sub-regional [in Asia] but in the end, they couldn't come up with a way where it would be fair to split Asia in a proper way." 👀 What do you think is the best way to make qualifying to the Major better?

@GoMeZCSGO @JesperLarsen222 @HLTVconfirmed @StrikerHLTVorg if you were to split it into two, OCE either gets off too well or arguably too harshly. Youd either have it be 2/2 or 1/3. Is 1 guaranteed slot for a subregion better than a theoretical 0? 🤷‍♂️

Who loses a spot then, AM or EU? :) If its Americas it will be 5 AM / 5 AS. Lowest ranked Americas is Liquid at 40. If its EU you would swap a top 24 team for one ranked 80-ish realistically, but maybe that 80 is not the real rank if they played EU regularly.. or maybe it actually is.. who knows. But it could of course just be a regional representation choice by Valve in the spirit of the major. But 3 Asia spots seems a bit much for me from a competitive point of view. Why not just 2 each? A region can always get an extra spot by teams qualifying to stage 3.

@hawka_cs Was a lot worse with Blast Bounty (old format) always first event after break, team #17 got to choose their opponent, always someone in ~top8 or so who got ravaged with roster changes.

VRS points deciding who makes the major is an integrity nightmare. SINNERS beat a G2 side fresh off a roster move, whose coach literally said the event was “practice for us.” Not their fault, they played what was in front of them. But this system has some huge issues.

@BanKsEsports dont think its that ideal, depends on your situation. For example, if you are a qual team or a team currently in the EU 16-24 spot. Do you risk going there to probably lose 0-3 1-3 . Or go to a small LAN and farm points.

Odd story coming from vinS in a recent podcast appearance about Wildcard's manager apparently waking vinS and stan up multiple times at 4am during Katowice. Not sure what to make of but find his claim they didn't have a manager for most events, including Shanghai, interesting.
ProrokEsport@ProrokESPORT

No po prostu najprawdopodobniej on to tłumaczy, że lunatykował. Wszedł do naszego pokoju o czwartej w nocy i nagle zaczął biegać po pokoju, a mówię do Stanisława po polsku, no co ty robisz, co ty robisz? A patrzę w drugim łóżko Stanisław leży. Link w komentarzu.
