For 17 years, Miguel Esqueda kept the halls of Washington Jr. High pristine, serving as the school's primary custodian. More than that, he shared high fives, smiles and laughs with a generation of students. Recently, though, Miguel received a career opportunity too good to pass up. WJHS has a special tradition for honored guests; students line the halls for a clap-out. Miguel left WJHS last week with a lot of smiles, a few tears, and a police escort as he drove off into the sunset. Thank you, Miguel, for sharing your days with us. Today was incredible, celebrating Washington Jr High School as our newest parent-choice school! WJHS is now approved for candidacy in the International Baccalaureate Programme. This means students in Bentonville Schools can receive an IB education from kindergarten through their senior year! This is big, Bentonville! Shoutout Mr. Fisher on his newest title, “Junior Officer Fisher” You can catch Officer Fisher on badge patrol pulling students over in the halls that are not wearing their badges and reminding them to stop by the office to grab a temporary badge. Wear. Your. Badge.

We support our members of the armed forces every day, including Mrs. Wilkins’ son, who is an Active Duty Marine. Please join us on Fridays by wearing red!

This week at WJHS! We serve the week up starting with a Volleyball tailgate and game, Football game Thursday and a movie night on Friday! Followed by a 3 day weekend!!! Go Wildcats!!!
