STATEMENT: DON’T ATTACK IRAN! Grassroots Left vehemently condemns the unprovoked imperialist attack on Iran, coordinated jointly by the US and Israel – and in the middle of negotiations with the Iranian regime. In a direct hit on a school, 36 children have been killed. Hundreds, if not thousands more innocent people will be killed. The US and Britain are backing Israel’s genocide in Gaza to the hilt. They have no standing to claim that they are supporting democracy in Iran or anywhere else in the Middle East. Trump claims he wants ‘regime change’. But the liberation of Iran from the reactionary regime of the Islamic Republic is the task of the Iranian people and the Iranian working class. Our solidarity is with them. Every bomb, every aggression and every economic sanction directed by US imperialism against Iran is a blow against the Iranian people, not the regime. That regime draws succour from all attempts at foreign imperialist interference, posing as representatives of the unity of the nation. The British and American butchers of Baghdad, those enablers of Israel, must get out of the Middle East. Grassroots Left calls on Your Party and the whole British labour and trade union movement to oppose this new imperialist adventure: to oppose Starmer’s intention to increase military spending by billions and to demand that Britain get out of NATO now. grassrootsleft.org/statement-dont…

An open letter from @YourPartyScot's interim SEC to Your Party's newly-elected CEC members. 👇 With a need to elect our own leadership in Scotland, not to mention the Holyrood election just two months away, there's no time to waste.

One party, two stories: Why we need the Green Party Why we need more than the Green Party

THANK YOU! 🙏 🚩 Thank you so much for your support in the Your Party CEC leadership elections, which closed at 5PM today. Whatever the outcome - we could not have done it without you! Having met thousands of you, we are now more convinced than ever: We need an unashamedly socialist, anti-imperialist and anti-Zionist party, where the members and the branches are firmly in charge. Your Party headquarters should be there to help branches, by sharing data finances and admin support - not to stifle and control them. We need a party that welcomes everybody on the left - without yet another witch-hunt, which will destroy our nascent party. We need a party that actively engages with and supports those who struggle against the rapid drive towards right-wing authoritarianism and capitalism. In just these last few weeks, Grassroots Left candidates and supporters have attended the Birmingham bin workers’ picket lines, marched against the right in Manchester and have attended various Palestine demonstrations. We have protested for the release of the Filton 24 and the activists held in Bronzefield and stand in active solidarity with Palestine Action - see our statement, Opposition to genocide is not a crime! grassrootsleft.org/statement-oppo… We need all these movements to come together in Your Party and start viewing it as their natural home - but we’ve got a way to go! Thank you for joining us in this battle. Whatever the outcome, we want to discuss with you the next steps the Grassroots Left members on the CEC should take. How can we implement our programme for ‘maximum member democracy’? How can we stop another witch-hunt? How can we recognise branches on day 1? We’ve got some ideas, but we also want to hear your views! Join us on Saturday February 28 at 11am With Zarah Sultana, Sophie Wilson, Chris Saltmarsh, Mel Mullings, Candi Williams and others.
