This week, St Lucia's Min for Agri. Hon. Lisa Jawahir visited IICA HQ for the DG’s inauguration, met with IICA programme heads, held bilateral talks with CATIE, toured the Situation Room & CIMAG Strengthening partnerships for a more resilient, innovative agriculture sector.

It’s now official! Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim has been sworn in as IICA’s new Director General during a ceremony held #today at IICA Headquarters. Dr. Ibrahim, a national of Guyana, will guide the Institute from 2026 to 2030. Congratulations and best wishes on this new chapter!

#Today, the IICA ECS Rep, Gregg Rawlins met St. Lucia’s new Agriculture Minister, Hon. Lisa Jawahir and senior officers PS Bradley St. Ange & DPS Dr. Randel Esnard. He outlined IICA’s mandate, pledged support, and presented her with an IICA token, wishing her every success.

IICA supported the 5th Annual Honey Show #yesterday at Pointe Seraphine, St. Lucia, hosted by the Iyanola Apiculture Collective. We remain committed to strengthening beekeeping in St. Lucia and across the Caribbean.

Final day of CCRAF On the ROAD – Antigua & Barbuda From hydroponics to beekeeping and drone flights, students got hands-on with agriculture and toured the new School of Agriculture, preparing for its 2026 launch. IICA is proud to inspire the next generation of Caribbean farmers!
