We just published the strategy we're using to get our clients on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and other LLMs. We call it *Prioritized GEO*. Why? Because we think GEO strategies are suffering from a major priorities problem. Everyone is throwing around random GEO tactics online: add FAQs! Word your headers as questions! Create an LLMs.txt! But most of those are completely unproven, with some even proven to not work (llms.txt for example literally does nothing). But more importantly, they shouldn't be your first priority! The first and most important step is to get LLMs to know your brand and products. Second they need to know when and for whom you are a good fit. The way to do this is by having your brand (1) show up in traditional SEO search and (2) provide the narrative and detials that tell LLMs when and for whom you are a good fit. Why traditional SEO? Because LLMs "ground" or supplement their responses with web search. Old fashioned Google search. They do this in particular when asked about product or brand recommendations, which really are the only prompts and topics that have a chance of sending you customers. You have two ways to do that: 1. Get your own content ranking. 2. Get listed in other content that's ranking. Those are the foundation -- Tier 1 and Tier 2 -- of our GEO Priorities Pyramid below.
