This is exactly it. What surprises me most isn’t even the redesign itself at this stage. It’s the silence afterwards. When so many long-term paying subscribers, trainers, owners, analysts, and serious punters are all making the same usability complaints, you would expect at least some acknowledgement publicly. Instead, there seems to be a determination to simply ride out the backlash and keep insisting the new layout is “easier than ever”. But the issue people are raising is actually very specific and consistent: The old racecards allowed information to be absorbed quickly in one flowing workspace. The new version breaks that workflow apart by scattering key information across multiple tabs and pages. That may suit a modern “mobile-first” design philosophy, but it makes serious race analysis noticeably slower and more frustrating. People don’t pay premium subscriptions for aesthetics. They pay for usability, speed and efficient access to data.
